Description

Design, Build and Maintenance of a 14km HDPE pipeline of 630mm diameter, at -95m, connecting Aegina Island with Athens Water Supply & Sewerage Company (EYDAP) infrastructure in Salamina Island for the supply potable water to Aegina Island (Q=21.500m³/day, by gravity, without pumping).

The Project’s works consist of the following:

  1. Implementation of the Application Study and other supplementary studies and surveys, including geophysical survey, pipeline route optimization, re-issue of EIA and issuance of work permits by various stakeholders.
  2. Construction Works, land & marine.

Construction of pipeline strings, up to 468m long at Aegina work site (butt fusion welding, debeading at 36m pipes, conduction of hydraulic tests, installation of ballast blocks)

Towing and temporary mooring of strings at sea storage area at Salamina.

Concrete works including the construction of ballast blocks and nos 3000 ACBMs (concrete mattresses) for the protection of pipeline from trawling activities.

Construction works (air inlet – outlet manholes, valve manholes, pig inlet – outlet manholes, electrical installations) at Aegina and Salamina existing infrastructure for the connection of the pipeline to the water supply network and installation of a twin pipeline at the connection points, for future network expansion.

Launching and submersion of the pipeline, commencing from Salamina and heading South, with the connection of strings being performed at open sea, by means of floating equipment and work class ROV.

Pipeline protection works at coastal areas and deep sections (down to -95m) with ACBMs and geogrid rockfill layers.

Extended marine logistics and marine traffic management during the whole course of works.

Trials and tests upon completion of works and connection to the network, operation & maintenance for 36 months, while fully serving Aegina Island’s water supply.
