PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Technical study, construction and operation of the water treatment
facilities for the water of Aliakmonas River to render it drinkable for
providing water supplies to the city of Thessaloniki.
Cleaning process: Removal of haze, pesticides, asbestos fibers.
Includes:
(a) Pretreatment (Measurement, Flow Control, pre-oxidation, pH
Adjustment, Addition of Aluminum Sulfate)
(b) Processing (Three Flocculation-Sedimentation Tanks, Ten Refining
Beds, Ozone Plant, Eight Beds of Activated Carbon)
(c) Water consumption preparation: (pH adjustment, chlorination)
(d) Sludge treatment plants: (Pumping stations, thickening, dehydration)
(e) Cabron Regeneration Plant, Ozone Production, Chemical Additive
Storage and Dilution, Administration Building, Chemical Laboratories,
Repair Workshop, Substation
(g) 11-month pilot operation
(h) Efficient operation 18 months
